Tim Hanna is a classical and blues musician based in the Denver, Colorado area. 

 

Working across multiple performance styles, Tim embraces a collaborative spirit and is dedicated to creating unforgettable sonic experiences.

 

Musical Background & Education

Tim began his musical journey early, picking up instruments in junior high school. He went on to pursue music, studying Music Performance with a focus on the tuba at the University of Colorado at Boulder. During his collegiate years, he immersed himself in competitive and prestigious regional programs, playing for the Denver Young Artists Orchestra and the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, while also refining his craft at the Aspen Music Festival and School and the Summit Brass Clinic.

Professional Career & Performance

After college, Hanna utilized his talents in public service by enlisting in the U.S. Army on active duty as a military musician. Following his military service, his career took a theatrical turn, performing both tuba and bass at several prominent American theme parks, including Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia.

Current Work in Denver

After a period living on the East Coast, Hanna returned home to Colorado where he met and married his sweetheart, Heidi Peterson. By day, he works as a federal contractor, but his evenings and weekends remain heavily dedicated to the front range music scene: 

Classical Tuba

He currently plays tuba for the Littleton Symphony Orchestra, participating in their regular seasonal programs and outdoor summer concert series.

The Denver Blues Scene

Beyond classical arrangements, Hanna has a profound passion for roots and blues music. He regularly hits the local circuit, playing bass at various blues jams around the Denver metro area. Tim also plays Electric and acoustic Double Bass with the Flave Max Band, The MIT Trio and various other talented musicians in the area including Zea Stallings, Andy Babb and many others.
